1. A Silent Voice Complete Collectors Edition Vol. 1

Yoshitoki Oima
On Sale: October 26, 2021
Hardcover $44.99 USD

I have been excited to read this manga ever since I first saw the A Silent Voice anime movie. The movie was so beautiful and I am sure the manga has plenty of extra room to expand and flesh out the characters and ideas even further.

The award-winning modern classic about a girl who can’t hear and her bully, which inspired the acclaimed anime film from Kyoto Animation, returns in a beautiful, two-volume collector’s edition. Each extra-large, deluxe hardcover contains about 700 pages of manga on crisp, premium paper, and more than fifty pages of new content.

A Silent Voice isn’t just a potential conversation starter about bullying, it also teaches empathy and has the potential to change behavior.” -School Library Journal
“A very rare chance to see characters with disabilities represented on the page and a harsh light shed on the way that Japanese culture handles this difficult topic.” -Comics Bulletin

This deluxe, large-sized hardcover includes the first half of the story of A Silent Voice, extending from Vol. 1 through half of Vol. 4, as well as over fifty pages of content never published in English before, such as the early drafts of the story, behind-the-scenes details from creator Yoshitoki Oima, and color art and concept sketch galleries. Collectors and new readers alike won’t want to miss it!

The hit comedy manga comes to print by popular demand! Swimsuits! Ramen! Dumb jokes! Beer! Uncomfortable nudity!

3. Junji Ito’s Cat Diary: Yon & Mu Collector’s Edition

Junji Ito
On Sale: October 26, 2021
Hardcover $24.99 USD

I have only read two Junji Ito so far, but Uzamaki was deeply disturbing on a psychological level. With a release date of October 19th this will be coming out just in time for the Halloween season.

Is there anything spookier than a silent feline, eyes glinting, stalking you in the night…IN YOUR OWN HOME?? Master of horror Junji Ito turns his twisted eye on his own life in this comedic graphic memoir about becoming a cat owner, now reissued in a deluxe hardcover featuring an exclusive interivew with Ito and a NEW cover illustration by the author that GLOWS IN THE DARK! The perfect gift for the slightly-twisted cat lover in your life.

Reigning king of horror manga Junji Ito presents a series of hissterical tales chronicling his real-life trials and tribulations of becoming a cat owner. Junji Ito, as J-kun, has recently built a new house and has invited his financée, A-ko, to live with him. Little did he know…his blushing bride-to-be has some unexpected company in tow—Yon, a ghastly-looking family cat, and Mu, an adorable Norwegian forest cat. 5. Planet of the Orcs (Light Novel) Vol. 1

Himataro Zukunashi
On Sale: October 26, 2021
Hardcover $14.99 USD

Admittedly the isekai genre, especially in light novels, is suffering from a glut of mediocre, cliche series. But there are two things that catch my eye about this one and that is the awesome cover and the isekai play on Planet of the Apes.

A high octane portal fantasy set in a world at war between orcs, armed with guns, and magic-wielding humans.

He was fifteen when he first became a hero, blasted to another world by an unknown entity. At the end of his harsh and hapless journey, the hero defeated the Demon King. Over the next ten years, he was sent off to different worlds, and every time, he saved them. Now, on his thirteenth world, the enemy is the orc race whose highly advanced civilization has forced humanity into a desperate struggle for survival. What’s more, the orcs seem to have banded under a cunning leader. Has our hero finally met his match?
